I've had good luck cleaning up shafts and putting in new seals, but I think those are a lost cause. We've been getting Predator engines from Harbor Freight and are completely satisfied. My opinion is they are better than Briggs and almost as good as a Honda, but at a very cheap price. Have 3 and plan to get another when they are on sale.
