Idaho
Store them carefully. They are a high pressure tool that needs proper care. Store upright with the piston cleaned, lightly lubricated and fully collapsed. Screw exstension retracted and lightly lubricated. The extend/retract screw valve should be closed which prevents any fluid pressure on the pump shaft. The pump shaft should be cleaned, lubed and fully collapsed when not in use. Don't drive off the darn jack like a mad man. Collapse and remove it. Don't store in the dustiest/wettest place.
I am guilty of not doing all of the above. Have observed commandos pull a rusty dirty upside down jack out of the back of a flat bed and bitch that it will not work. What stopped working first is the owner operaters brain cells. Properly cared for the jacks that the chinese make and we buy can last a reasonable long time.
Just like clean air tools and battery tools just not as sexy.
