Subject: Boxcar 7150 ac troubles

Illinois
Neighbor has a 7150 that ac quit and light came on in the cab. No power to the compressor and we jumped it and high and low side are very low. 5-10 on the low and 50 on the high side. Added a couple cans of Freon but everything still seems very low and light is on in the cab. Clutch wire to the compressor still doesn’t have voltage.

To me it shouldn’t take more than a can to bring it back up unless it’s really low. I can’t believe it’s that low it just quit a couple days ago. Curious if something else is going on. Low side line will freeze up for a short time with jumper wire. Thoughts?

Edit new gauges want to read zero with everything off. My old set would read pretty much ambient temp
