My experience is that to do 1000 ac a year of hay, in a commercial way (fast and top quality saleable product) you are over half million in haying equipment costs. Then add additional equipment costs for turning that ground over at regular intervals to keep it top notch (tillage, seeding, fertilizing, spraying etc).
