Faunsdale, AL | I’ve found clutches on eBay. Might have trouble looking the right one up unless you can find a vehicle that has the same compressor as your tractor. Used to be available from autoparts stores, same thing about looking up a compressor model to get a listing. I’m sure AP Air has a listing for the tractor but may not offer the clutch by itself.
Have you ever changed a clutch? Can require special tools to install and replace without damaging the shaft. Not knowing which compressor you’re dealing with I can’t say how hard it would be to do it right.
One thing I’ve found with Denso compressors as used starting on the 50 series JD tractors is the clutch isolator rubber doesn’t shear unless there’s something wrong with the compressor. In my case it was broken inlet valve leaf stuck on top of a piston. Had a 3830 windrower that did that a few times. So, replacing the clutch on a compressor might just reveal a problem with compressor itself. It’s a risk you take. | |
