How wide of an area are you wanting to cover ? and how much product ? Pulverized or pelleted lime ?

The old granular insecticide and herbicide boxes off a JD494A planter were pretty small. Don't quite remember what was in the bottom of those to meter product.

Later 7000 planter boxes would be more capacity but you still need to figure out a way to drive with chain perhaps electric motor. Not ideal for heavier products like pulverized lime.

There are larger 3 point and pull type drop box spreaders. Tires drive an agitator/impeller shaft in the bottom of the box and the bottom is a hinged gate style for metering.

Also push style boxes like this that are smaller. Scotts is one type but they look to be all plastic now. Older ones were metal hoppers, metal impeller and metal wheels which were a lot more durable for heavier lime products.

Could possibly use a fan type grass seeder but will be dusty and will need agitator if using pulverized lime which will be heavier and harder on fan and drive components of it.
