MN | 1000 acres is a lot to cut,rake,and bale with one tractor. You have to realize Not every day is hay day with Mother Nature involved. If you get a open station machine buy a lot of bug spray and sunscreen, probably some good ear plugs and a wide brimmed hat so your ears don’t burn off….
My old neighbors husband/wife used to do it with a “fleet” of Jonny poppers two with 9’ sickle bars two hooked to rakes two 4020s with 8 bale accumulator buckets, and one hooked to a deere wire tye baler with a accumulator,and they had about a dozen hay racks…
They would cut 40-50 acres late every morning, rake and bale the previous hay in the afternoon, if the weather didn’t mess it all up…. | |
