There is no consensus on any of the topics we have discussed. As you have noticed this site tends to be populated by Trump supporters. If a person was narrow minded one would conclude that the consensus was pro Trump. If one were to visit a left leaning site it would tend to be populated by anti Trump people. A narrow minded individual could claim that the consensus of the general population was anti Trump.
The reality is that the appearance of consensus is caused by the number of people who choose to speak up for whatever side they choose to. Those who choose to speak up and the side they speak up on are influenced by various factors such as available funding, career implications, censorship, etc, etc, etc. When these factors are present it can give the false impression that there is a consensus when there is in fact no consensus. The reasoning is very similar to the scientific principle of removing bias through means such as double blind or triple blind studies. Scientists know that all bias has to be removed to achieve an accurate result. Sometimes a persons personal bias allows them to overlook biases affecting the outcome as long as the end result is what they are biased towards.
I understand and agree that there is no consensus on this issue. I used that term to see if you would challenge the appearance of a consensus, getting the most votes, by listing reasons that invalidate the consensus statement. Which is what you did. I hope you can now also accept the factors that invalidate the consensus statement on other topics in return.
Oh. Edit to add: It is never right to blame others for things they didn’t do and I never said it was. I never thought it was fair to blame Trump for Biden’s failures either but it was the common practice for Biden’s 4 year term. As someone else mentioned, did you speak up about the same issue then? Have you spoken up about this issue more in the last few months than you did for those 4 years? I never paid attention. I’m just curious.
