| Tmrand described very well how a great many people feel, myself included. The movement towards Trump is by and large driven by the lefts actions more so than Trumps actions. The continuing actions of the left is just solidifying his supporters even more and creating even more supporters. The more hatred and persecution they spew towards him the more believable it is that he is right over the target. No one would have believed he was being persecuted if the left had not made it so obvious. Many people realize that if the government can and will do that to him, it can and will do it to them as well.
But as you allude to the left is currently exploiting the financial upheaval in hopes that they can create as much hatred as possible in the people who will put their own short term well being ahead of the future well being of themselves and the rest of society to undermine his support. They are counting on people focusing on the short term. Thankfully, most now realize the sky isn’t falling after all and the sun might even shine again.
