Scranton | We've been loading organic corn for 20 years on rail. We have a local group that loads 150+ cars a year basically 3 at a time on a rented spur. We just use an auger like you are doing. Leasee found a rail car mover to move cars. That really helped as we are often loading 3 cars by three different growers, so whoever shows up can unload in a matter of a minute.
Our buyers line up all the cars. We just get told when they show up or are showing up. So much easier than trying to line up trucks. Plus our corn to both coasts and down to texas as well.
Don't get stung on payments. It adds up fast. | |
