I have a 7290r because I convinced myself the smaller frame fit what I wanted it to do better than an 8 series. Should have gone with the 8. Better ride, more capability, easier to work on, better front axle suspension. Better cab entry.
8r would do well on all the jobs you listed and do it easier than the 7r.
