East Central Nebraska
(disclaimer I'm an orange guy, but that ship is starting to sail). Spent a lot of time in the 80's and 90's in a Allis 7000 and 7050. Also had a 2-105. 8030 Allis powershift would be the cat's meow but your budget would have to be upped a little. What kind of mower and guessing round baler. My 105 was a little light if a bigger round baler. Might be able to get that 7040 a little cheaper. 7040 would handle a round baler real nice. Make sure the transmission all works good and the high and low push button shift on the floor shifts good. LED lights will help you out if going at night. Never had any issues with the 426 motor in the Allis's that I've had. Pretty simple tractor, Hydraulics are closed center which usually preferred style. Remotes of that vintage probably will need some work if not kept up. I got seal kit for the remote assemblies on my 8030 which is about the same, but some of those parts are no longer made. But you are going to run into that with just about anything unless you get a 4020 or something like that. Cabs are small on the 7000 series, but if by yourself, not a problem. Windows open up good, and all the air conditioning stuff is fixable if broke and I've gotten that stuff from a parts store. Hopefully has a dual speed PTO that you can change shaft from 540-1000 and that changes out quickly. Had our 7050, which I think is slightly older and a couple more ponies, for probably nearly 40 years and only did a clutch in it. my old man bought it in the early 80's and I just traded it 2 years ago. Was my Dad's favorite tractor. Treated us well. Looking at tractor house, the one for 9500 looks pretty straight. The air cleaner intake looked crooked but maybe the picture. Also still farm with a IH 886 and 1086 for a neighbor. Harder to see the hitch when hooking up to those and I hate where they put the shift assembly in your way getting in and out of that tractor. I'd prefer a 7040 over a 1086. My opinion, but just throwing another option out there.
