Well, Red Trail Energy in ND was doing carbon sequestration, getting paid a premium for ethanol and selling carbon credits. The value of the co2 capture last summer, the month I checked, was worth about 1 dollar a bushel on corn. we were getting paid a premium on corn. The plant just sold recently, I have some shares, we are getting close to $6 a share. Similar plants, without co2 capture, the stock is worth about $1.75. I think the co2 capture would do to corn what ethanol did to corn. They are building a saf plant at the red trail energy site i believe, company that bought it is gevo, the call it net zero north. Canada and the west coast are paying a premium and licking that low carbon ethanol up like crazy. This would all be good for farmers. we can provide low carbon fuel.
This is 100% exactly what I'm mean. And I QUOTE in your words "they are doing it at the plant" there is zero reason to spend billions of taxpayer dollars to pipe it around the country when it can all be done on sight. |
