Everyone should be concerned for bias. Because all humans have bias. That's why we have peer review. Because not everyone has the same bias we do. That's why we have double and triple blind studies. That's why we have metadata analysis when computers do it and takes all of the human emotion out of it.

I agree science does not have 100% track record. But it has by far the Best track record of anything we've ever come up with. I don't need to question the data sets as you put it. Even plot data sets can provide useful information. The women's health initiative which almost got defunded by this administration a month ago. Has been going on for over 30 years. Even though there are flaws like oversampling white women versus other minorities. The fact it has gone on for 30 years yields so much information that it overcomes the flaw in the data set.
