Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
This sounds better than my plans. I guess this is akin to my method of using a planter configuration that I used for tile maps. My approach allowed me to indicate the various tile sizes etc. which was handy but probably not that useful for manure unless one wanted to mark different types for some reason.

Sine the OP has an Application Rate module, I suspect it could be used to trigger the mapping ON/OFF instead of the screen Icon. This could simply be a common switch in place of an implement switch to the App Rate module. This common switch might be handier than using the screen icon.

On the other hand, having the coverage logging be triggered by auto steer seems like it could be very workable and the Application Rate module would not be needed. The coverage map would then start/stop based on auto steering being engaged/disengaged which could coincide with the manure application. He is likely driving manually the rest of the time anyway.

This is how I have auto steer set up with my Trimble 750 and Nav II in my old Quad tillage tractor. It paints whenever the steering is engaged. When I'm doing the edges etc. and not using auto steer, I can force the coverage with a screen icon. This is not a big deal but can be useful at times.
