 Nunn CO | Hello all,
Our house gets pretty hot in these summer months and the A/C just doesn't keep up. 75-78 is really all we can get out of it. Had a tech come out and go through it, he said its just a bit undersized but our duct work is maxed out. Our house floor plan is essential one large great room with kitchen and dining room tied in and a few bedrooms and bathrooms off of it. The living room has very tall vaulted ceils and one wall is all windows looking out. They face to the east and get full light until noon. The previous owner put some type of tint on them which I'm guessing helps but not enough.
So, we have looking into blinds for that whole wall. Then need to be remote since the ceiling is 24' and there are 16 windows total. That many remote blinds are far from free. In your option will they help that much? The sun is off those windows by noon but I'm guessing the house gains a lot of solar heat in that time. A few other forms online said exterior blinds are notably better since they stop the solar gain through the window in the first place while interior blinds still get the solar gain but stop a fair amount of it since there is only the blind itself and pocket of air getting heated.
Thought/ suggestions appreciated. | |
