Subject: John Deere ATU power source

NEND

We’ve had an ATU in our Versatile four wheel drive tractor for quite a few years. Over the past couple of years we’ve had trouble with it drawing too much power to the point that the tractor throws a low voltage code when we engage the ATU with the lights on. It’s when we have the lights on. So I’m not saying it’s necessarily the ATU that the problem, I think if we either shut the lights off, or the ATU, we’re fine. We installed a John Deere power strip that the ATU and the 4640 display are both plugged in to. I think the MTG is plugged in there also. The tractor has a new alternator and batteries. I was wondering if we need to hook directly to the batteries, get a bigger alternator, or what?
