Thanks guys for the info so far.

A little more info to help narrow it down

Would want to be in Ohio. Ideally Darke, Miami, Shelby, Champaign, Logan, Auglaize, Mercer counties. But we did take a short family trip recently and found some really nice land on the east side of Chilicothe in the Scioto river valley. There are a lot of places that would do better than what I have currently, but I'm sure everyone has that perception at some point.

I would want to build new buildings and grain setup with only 2 bins to clean out, just not sure how the money works out. Farming around 1200 now, and would like to stay close to that. Selling about 300 acres and it will likely get split up within the family to some extent. I will likely have a nice down payment for 1000 or so, if I can find it. Not sure how much I would have to spend on buildings yet

We are in Auglaize county. Definitely be tough to find that much land up this way in West Central Ohio. Parcels come up for sale here and there usually 40 acres or under with the occasional 100 that comes up. Quite a few big operations up this way that are always ready to jump on them at almost any cost. We have been wanting to expand but at $20,000-$25,000+ per acre we could never justify it. Might be worth reaching out to a few relators they might have leads on upcoming ground.
