Malta, Illinois | The way I understand it the negotiations are just beginning. The only thing that has been agreed to was a 90 day pause in most of the tariffs imposed by both countries against one another. Supposedly negotiations will continue with the hope of reaching a major agreement within that 90 days. I'm not sure the 90 day pause is a good idea. We have the tariffs in place and have already felt a lot of the pain, why not keep the pedal to the metal and keep the tariffs on while negotiating? This seems like a way for both sides to keep kicking the can down the road. | |
