What direction do they go? It looks like through the Panama canal would be closest..........and both countries have to do that if you're talking about our east coast or New Orleans.
Maybe I need to get my world map out again.........but I'd think we're closer to China than them. Perhaps the canal route is costly and slows things up too much??
The east coast is already bean/meal deficient. There will likely never be any soy put on a boat on an eastern port to leave the country.
