I personally have never had a problem with alcohol, always been able to have a beer or a drink and stop at that. I did drink more for a while after my first wife died, but it never got to be a problem even then. My current wife had 2 previous husbands that were total alkies & druggies, so she tends to steer me toward the right path, she's not gonna have #3 turn out that way... :) The heart meds I'm currently on don't seem to play well with alcohol so that helps too...
Alcoholism does run in both sides of my family, both of my grandfathers ran stills & made whiskey during Prohibition & the Great Depression, & died early because of it...I never knew either Grandpa, grew up without them.
I have one family of cousins that were completely devastated by booze & drugs- 4 big fine boys, only 2 of them still alive, the other 2 mostly wasted shells of themselves...
My first wife's family were drinkers, although she never drank, so I watch my kids for letting it get a hold on them....both sides there too.
So hang in there & stick it out, I figure you're a tough SOB just for surviving 30 beers a day, no way in hell I could ever have drank 1/4 that much & survived it...
