North Central South Dakota
Considering we were digging down 2-3" before finding the first hint of moisture and that was before 95° and 50mph wind today I'm not sure that saying is applicable this year! We use a single disc opener and going into cornstalks we increased depth to just get them through residue and into hard ground. Typically the beans laying on top dont ever germ for us but maybe you get enough moisture to help it. We put down about 160,000 population to make up for all the lost germ.
