You can find all kinds of 86 octane gas around here for $2.40 to $2.57. 88 octane can be had for $2.71 to mid $2.80. I think the different when crude was $70 and $150 partly shows that the costs of producing gasoline now shows that wages and logistical costs have went up quite a bit since that high cost back years ago (lol Now).

Yes there are several oil fields north and northeast of where I live.


By the way when gas got so high in 2007-8 the price of gas at the coop gas station was over $5 and approached $6. This was in NE IA.
