Hooker Twp,Ne | The extra $11/ metric ton would equate to approximately $600,000. A cargo ship thru Panama Canal carries approximately 52,500 metric tons of soybeans. Some cargo ships can carry over 80,000 metric tons however I don’t believe they can through the canal. If they can use a larger cargo ship out of Brazil then I would think the cost of removal and loading would be less per bushel due to one time sitting at both docks. | |
