NW Washington | You will likely knock your wheat yield by 10 to 15% by going to 15-inch rows, but if it saves buying another seeder, or if will make planting the next crop easier, then go for it. With 15-inch rows, you will have seed thick in the row if you use seeding populations recommended for 7 or 7.5-inch rows.
My guess is that about 24 seeds per foot, or roughly 900,000 seeds per acre, would work. | |
