Lawyer handles the intermediary work going both ways and cpa the tax side , 1031 doesn’t really have much to do with that part ,buyer / seller just picks the titled real estate, I’m sorry I’m not real sure what you’re asking, titled real estate for something other than titled real estate should be studied and clarified before doing anything, the man above sounds like titled real estate for titled real estate to me, if there was something that sat in the property that was depreciated as kooiker asked about that could be different and a cpa should of caught that before any money went to an intermediary, can still be legal 1031 but appraisals would have been needed as it also appears there are depreciable items on the new property
