You mean to say you were drinking 30 lbs of fluid a day? (30 12 oz beers plus a gallon of water).
Nope just 30 -12 oz beers , about one bottle of water .
People can’t believe I could function on that much . There are people that drink more than that , met a person in the hospital that was drinking a Half gallon of vodka every day . They had cirrhosis of the liver .
After my labs came back , doc said if I quit right now there was a very good chance I’d be fine .
There are horrible things the doc told me about that can happen to people that drink to excess , pancreatic inflammatory disease ( he said that’s very painful ) liver can obviously shut down . ( death sentence without transplant ) . Kidneys can also shut down . Seems it starts with the liver . After the liver quits it’s a painful downhill trip. The other organs follow it .
Luckily my liver enzymes were only a bit elevated . They are probably fine by now .
Never had that many vials of blood pulled at one time , might been 10 or so . Doc called it full blood panel .
He was pleased how it came back , I said me too doc .
He said I don’t suspect I’ll see you here again . He said many patients come back to hospital over and over. I said
I know a lot about that son is EMT / Firefighter.
Some went 3 times a week in Dallas . I think doc was shocked by that himself. |
