S.E. Iowa | Not an answer directly to your question. I have removed the plaster, left the lath, and put in 2x6 furring. My ceiling joists are insulated and the blow in is so bulky I don't want to deal with it. I will run new wiring and improve duct work in the furred part. I have 10 foot ceilings so height is no issue. Plus having r19 in my ceiling adds another layer of insulation. In my mind the cellulose isn't the greatest for me. They must have removed the attic flooring to insulate when they did it. | |
