Southern Indiana | It's a mass production of carbohydrates (corn), protein (soybeans), and fuel essentially. Sometimes I think all the consolidation has ruined the world a bit. Sometimes I think it's pretty neat when we produce our own food here. Like actually produce a healthy end product. Like when I grind our own corn, feed it to our chickens, and put eggs in our fridge or sell them to others. Or butchering our own hog, doing all the work and putting a good product right in our freezers. Sometimes I get a vision and feel like a farm should have its own store/end product/butcher shop. Could produce a good product from start to finish. Far cry from how it is now... | |
