Higher risk with heifers but if bought right they make good money. Steers gain better and usually easier to feed. It’s all up to you.


I bought a load of put together heifers at 530 pounds in Nov. was gonna finish them but price was too good on 900 pounders so I dumped them a couple weeks ago.

Gained 2.25 pounds per day. Bought them for 3.73 per pound and sold them for 3.68 a pound at 888 pounds.
