I feed it in the winter depending on ration and temp.
It's a great product usually priced against soybean meal.
Priced at $150/ton here
You can usually feed up to 10lbs to a cow.
I usually feed 2lb to 8lb depending on ration.
I always test it when feeding to bred cows.
Silage is still the cheapest feed there is,
but it is short on protein so i usually balance it out.

edit- The darker the color the less the feed value usually
It can definitely be degraded by heat.
You want it a golden color.
