SESD | That will most often happen if you start the event in an area other than the field then drive to the field. Or start the event in the field, but drive a mile or more a way without suspending the event, then come back. The display logs where you travel, nothing painted, and it results in most things operating correctly but no painting. To avoid this it's best to create the event once you get to the field you'll be working in. If you do that but have to leave the field for some reason it's best to suspend the event then select it when you get back.
eta the boundary likely didn't have anything to do with it in this situation. If you have a boundary and leave the field it will usually ask if you want to suspend, close or continue the event. Depending why you're out of the boundary would determine which one to select
