western colorado

MaineFarmer - 5/4/2025 14:41 Here in an area with very poor and scarce farm land and huge demand for affordable homes both which are in short supply,,,I seriously doubt that any decline will ever happen.A slowing of sales maybe. The area is supported by numerous sources ; retirement ,movement in from crime states with many of those with home based employ, state prisons, fishing industry, tourism, small manufacturing, ultra rich gettaways needing care year around care, and all the services for above.Farming and forestry are basically gone..If you are in an area with mono source employment I could see an issue at times in the future.Basically a single wide mobile home on a lot is now 300,000$$ and gone in a week.FIL home is under contract to a couple and family from a city in Utah..wanted the calm life and no crime.

I'm really curious what kind of crime they are trying to get away from in Utah?  I end up spending a fair amount of time in Salt Lake area and I'm sure there are some bad spots but I have yet to run into them.  It seems like if you are having problems with crime you could move a few blocks and be fine.  Kind of an odd reason to move clear across the country.
