Ohio City Ohio | There is no such thing as universal fittings. Each fitting has the proper dies for it and the proper crimp spec.
If you really want to be able to use anyone's fittings you need a adjustable crimper with a full set of dies. And than find and verify crimp specs for each combination of hose and fitting.
Personally I like to stick with one brand of hose and fittings and use a positive stop crimper. Meaning I have a die for each size hose and just crimp till it bottoms out. I can talk anyone on the phone through it on how to crimp a hose at our shop if I am not there.
The crimper is the cheapest part of getting set up to make hoses. The basic starter assortment of fittings will v
Cost more than the crimper.
I deal in eaton/danfoss/weatherhead/aeroquip fittings and can sell you a crimper to match. I'd be glad to talk more | |
