All the 100k plus 350s I have opened, no cross hatch left on the bore and fairly healthy ridge at the top of the bore where the pistons never run. Quadrajet throttle shaft bushings are usually loose by then allowing a vacuum leak at idle.
Keeping excess fuel out of the enigne is huge for longevity, I think this is where fuel injection made a big difference.
