I'm not going to defend it or condemn it, just pointing out that the folks calling some chiropractors quacks did not come up with the idea. I'll link the nasa thoughts on it again as I thought most folks respected nasa's reputation on discoveries.

NASA research has shown that infrared light, particularly red and near-infrared LED light, can accelerate wound healing and promote tissue regeneration. This research, originally focused on growing plants in space and ensuring astronaut health on long missions, has led to various medical applications on Earth.

In essence, NASA's research on infrared light has paved the way for a new generation of medical treatments, particularly for wound healing and pain management.

I can follow the process of a light beam somehow treating a surface wound. True or not, I can understand that could be a possibility. The ‘radiation’ of the light would reach the surface of the wound. It is possible that has a positive effect on the healing.

Weight loss. We eat some food, gain calories, and we burn some calories creating heat, excersize, etc.

We can eat less. We can excersize more. We can take drugs that ‘create’ excersize. We can take drugs that block our body from using the calories. We can have surgery that creates a smaller digestive system. There are probably other things I’m not thinking of.

Shining a light at our tummy that I don’t believe penetrates through the skin layers with much force - I can’t see a way that will have any effect on weight gain or loss in any possible way. Even if the light waves penetrate through to the spine, what effect should such a low dose of light waves have on weight?

Healing an open wound. Possible. I’ll go along with a science trail of that. I can see the logic.
Creating weight loss? By what possible effect? Would need a much clearer set of logic on that one.

They are two different things.

I certainly can be very wrong on this. But if we follow logic….?
