Big Sky Country
Stiggy in Idaho - 5/4/2025 19:23

Can the cowboy on the two wheeled Japanese quarter horse keep his hat on when chasing a stray? We started our Three Creek bombing range steer checking today. It's green down there but could use some rain. Your pictures remind me of when we used to trail cattle from San Jacinto, Nv. to here.

I got a kick outa this—-was at neighbor big outfit—up to 8,000 cows for a while—-young guys, cowboys or wanting to be cowboys , good horses and hi end tack and jewelry —mounted up and going to make a circle—-one young man I’d been talking to earlier—chinks, spurs, tuff rag, plum cowboyed up rode up on his trusty steed—-Honda rancher—and away they went—-most of the cows were in bottoms and handy—-I was higher up and could see the country——and cowboys pretty much paired up and picked up cows who were wanting to move anyway and ambled along bs’ing.

Honda man put on most of the miles and got all the outliers. I’ve had good horses—-but, man—rangers are handy!
