Milford, IL | This has been interesting to watch from the sidelines. Wouldn't be that fun if I had to wait 5 months for an engine.
350 Qjet was pretty well used up by 100k. TBI brought better fuel metering and way better cold starts, engines lived longer until EPA mandated reducing oil additives (mainly zinc) = wiped camshafts. Vortec era very good engines, roller cam, quarter million mile or more with any care. Early LS platform, indestructible and improved horsepower, outstanding engine design and life. Then .gov mandates higher fuel economy, LS platform saddled with AFM and later 0w20 oil, big step backwards in reliability.
