| Word on the street is they took the Dwarfs and pumped out "Mini's"...................
I started out with Dexter's and we ended up buying a Hereford/Dexter Cross heifer at the time because my 6 year old wanted it, and the guy who had nothing but registered Dexter's knew a good sale when he seen an interested 6 year old to dump his cross heifer calf thanks to his neighbors fence jumper...............So we had everything pure except that one. Ended up she was a fantastic cow, breeding her to a Dexter every year. Ended up holding back bull calf she had and have been crossing things now that the pure bred fad has ran its course with people. I really like the cross of the two, and we don't have to screw with chopping up halves and 1/4's...........they get everything. With that said, I don't think the feed conversion on them is as advertised, but I like they are smaller, more docile, and easy to work with, not to mention easier on the facilities.............And for areas that are pretty populated like where I am, people like your wife think they are cute, not there is some huge beast over there in that pasture. | |
