I disagree. If you lose money nowadays it's going to be many years (or never) before you get far enuff ahead to get a fat head.
I know hundreds of multi million $ farmers and not a fat head among them.
It takes a lifetime to make it and you can lose it quickly.


Oh bologna!

Modern farmers seem to have lost concept of what tough times really are. Tough times are the farmers who were coming up in the Depression and Dust bowl years. Barely making a go of it, mom sewing burlap sacks up into clothing for the kids. Yes, profitability is low right now, but this is after a VERY good run of years where I distinctly recall farmers right here on AgTalk asking about which commercial range they should get for the kitchen they are putting in the new shop.

The whole "woe is me" crap doesn't fly with people who seem to remember history. Your sad story might work on some people, but not everyone. Farmers have it made today, even with the couple of bad years. So much so that you actually embarrass yourself with posts like that.
