Subject: RE: GM 6.2 V8 Recall

Arkansas
I call BS on the check the engine and if it’s ok then up the oil viscosity. Either they have a problem or they don’t. Different oil isn’t going to fix it. They are just buying time hoping to get these vehicles out of warranty and fixing them on customers dime. If they were confident with their oil “fix” they would extend the warranty on these engines. The fact they aren’t doing this tells you all you need to know.
These vehicles cost way too much money to have this happening. Can any of the manufacturers make a new truck that doesn’t entail major recalls or known issues??I’ve had good luck trading on a 2 1/2 to 3 yr cycle and keeping them in warranty. But that has a cost too and many can’t afford this. Wouldn’t want to think about trying to get 200k-300k miles out of a new vehicle now.
Full disclosure. Used to be a a solid GM owner. AFM fiasco turned me away from them. Now i am on my 4th Ford ecoboost with the above trade schedule and no problems, but there are horror stories about them also.
