We used to do it. Save a little bit on water bill. Only works if tank is black. We quit using it because of all the time spend cleaning the vulture feathers out of filters.



Damn Doug how old are you? You got so many vultures justa waiting around your place you need to clean the filters 10 times a day? Hahahaha

To the original question.

If you’re surrounded by trees it’s a NEVER ENDING act of cleaning gutters or whatever collecting equipment you have. The trees “here” around our house drop stuff EVERY DAY/ALL YEAR LONG. It just never ends so you have to clean the gutters and downspouts basically every month.

It’s not a big deal but just something to be aware of.
