coast of Maine | Could not wait to get out of college to farm full time.IDK but it appears now that it was the challenge I faced that was drawing me in.Sort of a risk taker ,,maybe its like the gambling disease that many have,,,I do not gamble in a horse/cards/lottery type ever.But I sure do gamble with millions in the soil/crops every season and there have been a few really sucky years but many great years.I ran crap equipment and zero days off for many years.Raised 3 great kids who have better careers than farming.I look at friends whom worked entire careers at the ship yard or such and see I made the correct choice not only in accumulated wealth(land) but health and happiness. | |
