central Ia | Grew up in town always wanted to farm, worked for a part time farmer all through high school, got the chance to farm in 81, 240 acres and raised a lot of hogs for 14 yrs then it was time to get out of the hog business and got a job in town and farmed 320 acres for the next 25 yrs, neither my daughter or my son wanted to farm so at the age of 65 I retired and moved off the farm and have never looked back. I enjoyed farming and the stress of farming left after I got a full time job, so I really enjoyed the 25 yrs of hobby farming. When I took the job I figured I would keep the job till I got my land but then I figured how many acres I would need to farm to offset the job and just kept on hobby farming.
