| If they are not contained in a gun barrel or something similar like a piece of pipe the brass typically splits and the bullet will fly a little ways but without any power behind it. With nothing to voltaic and direct the pressure they are similar to a firecracker. There was a video on you tube showing how hard/easy it was to make bullets go off. They dropped a case of ammo from something like 50' onto concrete, drove a bulldozer over it on concrete, and set it on fire. There were a couple that went off when dropped and more went off when driven over by a tracked machine and pretty much all went off when put in fire but nothing with enough energy to do any damage. | |
