west-byGod-Pa. | Given some of the horror stories I have known, training is critical. I know of a fire fighter( volunteer) up on a harvestore silo on fire-on a ladder: silo blew, knocked him off & killed him. I know of a house fire, fireman carried a drawer full of ammunition out: drawer was smoldering: lived to tell about it.
Cousin had a barn fire. Fire dept. showed up. One fireman got close to the barn spraying water. Chief screamed at him to get away. He was slow to respond but no sooner moved back & whole side of barn came down right where he had been standing. Have been told that one of the worst @ bombs” in a fire are aerosol Lysol. No end to the hazards. | |
