coast of Maine | What bizarrely works well is any sludge based product that has human blood products. If this is spread along the wood lines it is very good. You cannot get or use that product in this state and a couple others due to PFAS issues, which are in cosmetics, femine care products(which is where the blood product comes in).Guy whom I know of spread on his hay years ago,no deer in the fields for a year,,he know as he hunts big time. You could smell the iron when it rains. The product that we had decent success was Trico Pro..I think it is based on an animal fat,,has nearly no bad smell to humans.lasts a couple weeks.I used to deter chewing of young vine crops.Might be tough if that is only feed source.Another option which we use extensively is bait crops. Here deer prefer soybeans over other feed.We pull a planter along the corners where deer like to enter.Try and only do this with areas of good bullet backstops. When you check the fields they will be standing in the soybeans.Easy targets. We have woods on all sides all over.If you are growing soybeans IDK what to do besides a single hot wire at knee height with foil and peanut butter in wire. This works but lots of labor. | |
