Of course you're assuming that tariffs won't work, and Americans will still continue to pay for imports plus the tariffs, filling the government coffers to overflowing with tariff cash. The idea was supposed to discourage imports so that domestic industries can develop an advantage, which will result in higher prices and everyone being poorer. Brilliant plan.
What is the goal of these tariffs?
