Thanks, that was a thoughtful reply. I am with you. Progressive taxation is an ends to a means of protecting democracy. Like I said, my ideals tell me not needed, but history says otherwise. To your point, other tools can be used. Monopoly/ trust busting is important. I think what really gets all of us is inefficient use of our tax dollars and the perception of lack of trying to better themselves by many on welfare.
