Doesn’t alcohol in moderation help the heart supposedly?
The way I understand it, moderate alcohol consumption causes a nearly instantaneous release of nitric oxide into the blood stream. Which seems to be a good thing.
Problem is, most alcoholic beverages are loaded with sugar (carbs) as well as additives/preservatives that might be detrimental to long term health.
Quality wine and liquor in MODERATE quantities is likely a benefit. But for some, "moderate" and "liquor" don't go together very well...
